International Dialogue on Population and Sustainable Development in Berlin

On 19-20 October, in Berlin, DSW together with BMZ, GIZ, KfW, IPPF and Bayer Health Care Pharmaceuticals organized the 9th International Dialogue on Population and Sustainable Development entitled ‘Education Matters: Empowering Young People to Make Healthier Choices’.

The Dialogue directed political attention to the important link between SRH and education and discussed good practices, national standards and curricula, new developments and joint activities in the fields of general formal and informal sexuality education.

The participants came up with  concrete recommendations for partner governments, donors, non-state-actors and experts on how to more effectively use education initiatives to strengthen SRH in general as well as specifically in the selected countries. Development Minister Niebel made a speech on the importance of investing in SRH and family planning.
